The Purpose and Goals of the Sacred Chaos Seminars…
Purpose
To provide a seminar to assist in the spiritual and emotional renewal of religious leaders in transition. Sacred Chaos spriritual journey seminars seek to help religious leaders through some of their most difficult life passages, i.e. retirement, divorce, mid-life, etc, as well as to encourage and support them in their struggles with congregation dysfunction.
Goals
1. To provide a supportive group and a safe haven for religious leaders who are confused, in pain, and who are questioning their vocation…A place where they can be authentic and vulnerable.
2. To sensitize religious leaders to the early signs of burnout so as to take proactive and preventive measures to address long standing issues in congregational life and/or in their personal lives.
3. To help religious leaders clarify their call to ministry by supporting them in seeing their lives as a spiritual journey, even as they are experiencing chaos; to counsel them and to provide a safe place to discuss their pain, helping them to understand their angers and fears, and supporting them in the process of recovering their ministerial passion. Or, to help religious leaders realize that there are other possibilities beyond professional ministry where their gifts can be used.
4. To help denominational and congregational leaders understand both the perils and possibilities of the chaos some of the religious leaders under their jurisdiction are feeling. |
